• When the Germans and their European allies waged their war of liberation of Soviet Russia they were appalled by the primitive level Russians were forced to live under communism. The world press had previously called the Soviet occupation of Russia a 'worker's paradise', but it was anything but. The Germans wished to show the world of the truth, thus was born the Soviet Paradise campaign. Entire Russian houses were painstakingly dismantled and reassembled in Germany to show exactly as they were found. The show debuted in Prague on March 7, 1942, Lustgarten (park), Berlin, from May 9 - June 21, 1942, later moving on to Königsberg, November 14 - December 13, 1942, etc.
